CINEMATOGRAPHER
Hendrik A. Kley was born in 1980 in Essen, Germany. Between 2001 and 2006 he studied film and media at the Filmacademy Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg, with a focus on camera studies. As a student he spent several weeks at the UCLA in Los Angeles, USA and at the Filmschool in Lodz, Poland taking graduate level classes.
In 2014, Kley shot his first TV movie, “Polizeiruf 110: Smoke on the Water,” as a lighting cameraman, directed by Dominik Graf. Since then, Kley has been responsible as a DOP for numerous feature and television films, including many “Tatort” episodes. His collaborators include directors like Florian Baxmeyer, Friedemann Fromm, Bruno Grass, Richard Huber, Rainer Kaufmann, and Stephan Wagner.
He has also worked on various documentaries, commercials, and corporate films, gaining experience in countries like the USA, Hong Kong, UK, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Poland, Spain, Turkey, France, Italy, and Belgium.
