CINEMATOGRAPHER
Mathias Neumann has been working as a cinematographer since he completed his studies at the American Film Institute, where he completed a Master of Fine Arts in Cinematography, and has since shot more than 40 national and international feature films.
His works include all films from the feature films “Pettersson and Findus” (parts 1-4) for the big screens, the award-winning multi-part “Die Honigfrauen” and the feature film “Sex, Mitleid and Einsamkeit.”
In 2021 he shot the seven-part high-end series "Gestern waren wir noch Kinder,” which was nominated for the German Television Award 2023.
In September 2024, Neumann's new feature film "Seven Days," directed by Ali Samadi Ahadi and written by award-winning filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof, will celebrate its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film is about an agonizing struggle. When imprisoned human rights activist Maryam is granted a rare medical leave, she has the chance to escape Iran - but at the cost of her fight for equality and democracy.
