CINEMATOGRAPHER
Pascal Schmit, an award-winning German-French cinematographer, studied at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, where he received a scholarship to attend the Budapest Cinematography Masterclass, and mastered in Cinematography in 2005.
Schmit’s works include the feature films “Zeit der Kannibalen,” “Das kalte Herz” and „Heilstätten.“ One of his latest works, the feature film "Caveman" directed by Laura Lackmann celebrated its cinema premiere in 2023.
In 2022, he shot the six-part thriller series “Der Schatten” based on a novel by Melanie Raabe, which won the audience choice award at the 2023 Seriencamp Festival and was nominated for the German Television Award 2023. In addition, Pascal Schmit received a nomination in the category "Best Cinematography" for "Der Schatten.”
“Der Schatten” has been nominated for the Grimme Award 2024 for Best Fiction.
