CINEMATOGRAPHER
Philipp Sichler is an award-winning cinematographer based in Berlin. He studied cinematography at the Filmakademie Baden-Würtemberg. In addition to successful crime series, such as “Tatort – Im Schmerz geboren” and the film “Das weiße Kaninchen,” for which he received the German Television Award Best Film, he also filmed the award-winning mini series “Die Toten von Marnow.”
In 2021, Sichler filmed the six-part series “German Crime Story: Gefesselt,” based on a true story and directed by Florian Schwarz, for Amazon Prime Video. One of his projects in 2022 was the novel adaptation “Bad Director,” written and directed by Oscar Roehler.
In 2023, Sichler shot the feature film “Cranko” about the life and work of British choreographer John Cranko. The film is a journey back in time to the 1960s, when Cranko was director of the Stuttgart Ballet.
