DIRECTOR/WRITER
Elmar Fischer is an award-winning director and writer. He graduated from the German School of Journalism. His political thriller "Unterm Radar" won the gold medal "as the best TV film worldwide" at the New York Festivals World's Best TV & Films. Lead actress Christiane Paul was awarded an International Emmy for her performance in the film.
His other works include the award-winning feature film "Im Dschungel" and the feature film "Offroad," starring Elyas M'Barek and Nora Tschirner. His six-part mini series "Unsere wunderbaren Jahre" was a popular success. In 2022, he wrote and directed the thriller “Die Wistleblowerin.”
Fischer recently finished filming the thriller "Helix", based on the bestseller by Marc Elsberg. The TV movie tells the story of a BKA bodyguard who desperately fights to fulfill her wish to have a child. The film focuses on the unscrupulousness of global corporations in dealing with genetic engineering and explores the possibilities and moral limits of this technology at the current state of research. The screenplay was written by Jörg Tensing.
