KÁLMÁn Nagy

DIRECTOR/WRITER

Kálmán Nagy was born and raised in 1992 in a small town in Hungary. Since 2012 he lives in Vienna where he began his studies at the Filmakademie Wien in 2016. He graduated in 2021 in the directing class of Michael Haneke.

His short film "Olyan dolgok - Things like" was awarded and screened at many international film festivals, including Palm Springs. His latest short film "The Other End of the Street" had its world premiere at the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival. The film won the First Steps Award 2022, as well as the Best Short Film, the Audience Award at the Film Festival Max Ophüls Preis 2023 and the Thomas Pluch Screenplay Award at the Diagonale Austrian Film Festival 2023. It has been screened at nearly 50 festivals and was shortlisted for the Student BAFTA Award.

Kálmán Nagy is currently developing the screenplay for his first full-length feature film "The Shame of the Borbély Family", which was invited to Les Arc Talent Village 2022 in France, and was awarded a Special mention.

Kálmán Nagy is represented by Katrin Näher.
