WRITER
Anika Wangard began working in film at an early age, but first studied sociology and graduated in 2002. She then decided to study directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). With her graduation film “Crashkurs,” she received nominations for both the Max Ophüls Award in the category Best Feature Film in 2012 and for the Hamburg Young Talent Award for Best Screenplay.
She nevertheless decided to pursue screenwriting, and since 2015 she has enjoyed a close collaboration with writer and director Eoin Moore. As a team of authors, they write numerous police procedurals and crime series. Together they have especially shaped the program “Polizeiruf Rostock,” with Anneke Kim Sarnau and Charly Hübner, over the last 7 years.
Anika Wangard lives in Brandenburg, where she regularly holds screenwriting seminars together with Eoin Moore called Landluftliebe!
